Rails and network connectivity
Your network is the set of cities and connections you can reach. Rails extend it, and most actions require the target to be in your network.
You expand across the map by laying rail connections that link cities into your personal network. Urbanizing and much of the game's building happen only in cities you have connected. Growing an efficient, well-placed network is central to enabling later actions.
Common mistakes
- Overbuilding rails with no buildings to justify them.
- Ignoring network reach and getting locked out of key cities.
